Plan Description

    This plan is an NBN Home Phone service. It can only be purchased together with one of our NBN broadband plans.
    The minimum term is 1 month.

Setup Fees, Minimum terms, Cancellation Fees

  • There are no setup fees for the phone service in addition to those for the broadband service.
  • Minimum committed term for the NBN Phone Service is 1 month.

Phone Service

  • You can keep your existing phone number in most cases on your new
    NBN phone service. Alternatively we can supply you with a new phone number.
  • Call Itemisation:Call detail, including called number, duration and cost, is generally
    available for viewing at usage.australiaonline.net.au.

    • Chargeable Calls to Australian mobiles are 45c connecton and 36c per minute, capped at $1 for up to 20 minutes.
    • Calls to 13/1300 numbers are 35c untimed.
    • Calls to directory assistance are 75c untimed.
    • Calls to 1800 numbers are free.
    • All other calls are charged at our cost plus 25%.
    • This plan is for residential, non-business use only.
    • A telephone handset is not provided as part this plan.

    Call Usage Information

    • Call Itemisation: Phone Call usage including called number, duration and cost,
      is available for viewing at usage.australiaonline.net.au
    • Data usage: Data usage is available for viewing at usage.australiaonline.net.au
    • Generally usage information is available within 30 minutes of the call being made.

    Phone availability during power outages.

    • Your NBN Phone service is delivered via the NBN and your phone equipment will
      need to be connected to your Home Network Gateway to make and receive calls.
      Unlike some existing phone services, your voice and broadband
      services will not operate during a power failure. This means you won't
      be able to use your home phone servicee on the NBN to make or
      receive telephone calls including calls to Emergency '000' services.
      If you have a life threatening medical condition and you rely upon
      your home phone to summon assistance this service will not meet your needs.

    Phone Equipment Compatability

    • Most existing devices will be supported by a telephone service on the NBN.
      However, some older landline telephone handsets (such as a dial/rotary phone),
      back to base alarm systems, personal response systems
      (medical alert/emergency call systems) and fax machines may not work.
      Please check with the manufacturer/provider to check if your device is compatible.

    Phone Customer Service Guarantee

    • We commit to providing excellent customer service.
      The customer service guarantee is a Federal requirement that phone providers install and repair
      phone services within mandated time frames or pay compensation to consumers.
      We are reliant upon other parties such as NBN Co for installation and repair and consequently
      We cannot accept responsibility for installation or repair time frames.
      We will work to ensure that any installation or repair happens as soon as we can arrange it to occur.

      Consquently this plan is provided on the condition that it is not subject to the Customer Service Guaranee.

    Installation

    • Property Owner Permission: If you are not the property owner you need to get their permission to have the NBN installed.
    • Install Appointment: We will arrange an appointment with NBN Co and confirm with you that you can arrange
      someone to provide the installer access to the premises at that time.
    • Appointment Times: Appointments are usually a week day either AM being 8am to noon or PM 1pm to 5pm.
    • Install Fee: The fee for standard NBN installs is included in our setup fee which is free on a 24 month plan.
      If the NBN install is not standard then the NBN installer will advise you (or your representative at the appointment)
      of the additional installation charges and will give you the option to proceed or not on the basis of the additional fee.
    • IMPORTANT: Existing phone extension sockets may no longer work with the NBN phone service.
      Phone handsets will need to plug in to the Home Network Gateway (1 phone socket).
    • IMPORTANT: NBN Connection Box location. At the end of the installation there will be a NBN Connection Box (NTD) installed.
      You will need to plug your phone handset, cordless phone base station and non-WiFI computer to within a meter or so of the NBN Connection Box
      This is also where your WiFI will operate from.
      If you allow the NBN installer to locate the NBN Connection Box somewhere remote, like in the garage, you may need, at your expense, to get a private contractor to cable from the NBN Connection Box to somewhere more convenient like your study.
    • If you fail to attend an arranged appointment then NBN Co may charge us for our time whereupon we will need to pass such charges on to you.

    Required Hardware

    • This service requires a Home Network Gateway (HNG), a WAN, SIP alaw, FXS port and QoS capable router.
    • An NBN compatible Home Network Gateway is available from us for $99 plus $20 delivery or you can obtain your own.
      Ours comes fully tested and configured.

      Our Home Network Gateway includes :-
      • State of the art 300Mbit N300 WiFI
      • 4 Gigabit ethernet ports (GbE)
      • Gigabit ethernet WAN port (GbE)
      • USB port for 3G/4G fallback or external mass storage
      • 1 telephone handset port (FXS)
      • Comes fully configured and ready to go.
      • Delivery is via tracked express post.
      • Simple, just plug in to power and to the NBN connection box (NTD) with the supplied cable.

    • You may bring your own compatible equipment. We will do our best to provide advice and assistance
      with other compatible routers, though we cannot be held responsible for the service quality provided by
      hardware otherwise purchased.

    Billing

    • We bill you the minimum monthly fee in advance and usage charges such as calls in arrears.
    • When you signup you will be billed :-
      • Install fee as applicable,
      • For any purchased hardware,
      • First month's minimum monthly charge.
    • Payment is by credit card or direct debit from a bank account.
      A 29c credit card processing fee applies to payment by credit or debit cards.
    • Where you have a phone service an invoice will be emailed to your nominated email address
      on the first business day of the calendar month.
    • Payments will be debited on the 3rd business day of the calendar month.

    Other included features

    • Plan changes are available to other NBN plans. Upgrade to a higher monthly fee plan $0. Plan downgrade fee $29.
    • NBN broadband and Phone is not available to all premises or locations.
